Vita CoCo mix with apples
Baby food homemade
Vita CoCo pure coconut water mixed with Apples.
My son loves coconut water with pineapple. I put it in mostly everything. When you puree your fruit or vegetables for the baby you can add some of the water from steaming ( which holds most of the nutrient ) or you can add formula. I figured I try something new. And adding coconut water gave my lil-mans food a twist and its great for him.
Vita CoCo pure coconut water with pine apple has more potassium than one banana. Along with other great health nutrient.
More information about this water : Click here
You can purchase online or in your local store.
Here you will see I already peeled, cut and steamed the apples. I place the apples in a glass bowl after I steam to cool them down. I then place the apples and coconut water into my blender.
My lil -man thinks they taste GREAT!

Green Beans Puree - Baby food
Homemade Baby Food
Green beans puree . Easy to make for the busy Mom.
Green beans are another easy and fast to make baby food. first you place the green beans in a bowl and check them for brown spots or parts that are mushy from store handling. I throw these in the garbage .
I then place the green beans in a colander and rinse with cold water to clean any residue or bacteria.
I fill a pot with water ( the blue marker is about how much water you want in your pot). This is for steaming your green beans.
Now, before we do any steaming , cut the green beans in half and snap the ends off. This can all be done by hand. It's quick to do too.
Ok! Now after you snap the ends off and break them in half place them in a colander to steam.
When done steaming place in cold water to stop cooking.
Now, you are ready to puree. The left over water in the pot is used to add to the puree. This water holds a lot of nutrients. It also helps thin out your babies food.
Place green beans and water from pot in blender and puree away Mommy !
And your done. Feed the baby and any left over place in ice cube trays to freeze for later.
( frozen baby foods good for 3 months )

How to make Butternut Squash and Sweet Potato. Easy to make and your Baby will LOVE it !
Im new to this whole Video thing so, with that said here is my first video showing how I make butternut squash and the preparation of steaming my sweet potato .
- Butternut Squash - I cut the squash in half long way. Then I take a large spoon and scooped out the seeds . Reminds me of cleaning out a pumpkin . I baked mine in my toaster oven. I found a site telling me to bake it for an hour and a half but it took me 15-20 minutes and it was ready. Moving forward, I took a tray which came with my toaster oven and coated it with olive oil then I placed the squash on the tray with the shell facing up. I added a little water not much you will be able to see in the video the level of water I placed. I show what I did next after it was cooked in my next video I post under here.
- Sweet Potato - I use a vegetable peeler and peeled the skin off the S.P . I took a big pot filled it with a little water and placed the colander in the pot. I cut the S.P into small chunks which I don't show in the video. Once its cut into chunks I place them into the colander put the lid on top and allow to steam until tender. I check the tenderness with a fork.
Ok! now back to my Butternut squash. After cooked, I clean out the inside of the squash with a spoon and place it in a glass bowl. I like to use glass bowls because I'm dealing with hot food and i don't trust plastic when it comes to my lil- angel ( baby ).
I wait for the squash to cool down. Once it is cooled I spoon it out of the glass bowl into ice cube trays. I then cover the trays with plastic wrap.
This squash filled up one tray and a half. the squash is good for three months in the freezer. When you take it out of the freezer the day before to prepare food for your baby, it lasts three days in the fridge.
After the Butter nut squash is frozen take them out of the freezer and bag them. I put them in a freezer bag and wrote the name of veggie and date I should discard , on the bag.
I did the same thing to the Sweet Potato.
Every night before I end my day I get my lil-mans food ready for the next day. Now, you can prepare three days worth of food like I said earlier to you the baby food is good of three days in the fridge. its up to you and how you want to do it. each cube is an ounce or a little over. My son eats 4 ounces per meal so I take four cubes out of the bags. I mix an match too. You may want chicken and apple or strawberry, banana and avocado. Have fun with it !

Homemade Baby food - How to thicken and thin
Puree Banana - Baby food |
I love making my baby food. I prefer making it myself than buying it in a store. The store brands have all these crazy ingredients in their baby food to preserve it on the shelf's. Why should your baby ingest unnecessary substances? They shouldn't . I prefer my son to eat homemade only. I'm a first time mom so I may be a little fussy when it comes to my lil man but common sense says feed your child organic . Its a lot of fun too. You can get creative and mix protein and carbs of your choice. Play around with different flavors and as he or she gets bigger you can play with the texture too.
These are also good to thicken your baby puree. Now, when you defrost the baby food 6 out of 7 times it comes out runny so to fix this you add a wafer. Use your best judgement to the desired consistency. Now if you don't have any wafers in your home Rice cereal will do the trick too.
Now, when you prepare your babies food to puree you steam the food first. then place in blender some parents put the water from the steam in with the fruit or veggies. I worry about nitrates so, I prefer to use formula or baby water .
The baby water can be purchased in Walgreens, CVS or your local grocery store. Baby water has vitamins in it that your little angel needs. Again, it matter sweat stage your baby is at to the constancy of your puree. You can add the water, formula or thickness after you take it out of the freezer or before. I prefer water or formula as I blend my sons food and I thicken it when I take it out of the freezer. It's your choice.

I used three macontosh apples and one banana.
Peel apples
Cut apples into chunks
Place a nice amount of water in big pot to steam apples
Place colander into pot
Place apples into colander
Cover to steam
Steam apples until soft. Test with fork.
Cut Banana
Place banana an dapples into blender cup
You will need this water to fill cup
I use this amount of the steamed water. The more water the smoother consistancy the less you use the chunkier it is.
I placed it in little cups to store in my fridge.
Fridge - good for 2-3 days
Or you can freeze in cubes and bag it . Lasts 3 months when frozen.
